Why this must be read:  The first reason this is a must read is the perspective. The reader gets to see the outsider point of view of both Methos and Elliot Spencer as they discover bits and pieces of each other. The second reason is that it's a believable relationship between two dangerous individuals each of whom have a whole lot of secrets and yet their relationship is also fun and happy, as they chase each other, protect each other, and capture and release each other.

Chasing Death

When I envision a new vid, I always have an idea of where it will go and what it will look like, but the finished project rarely meets my expectations. These two vids, very different in tone, came out just as I wanted them to. While they aren’t the ones with the most downloads or YouTube hits, I am very, very fond of them.

Why I love this vid Every relationship between an immortal and a mortal is tinged with darkness; one will live unchangingly young while the other grows old and dies or the immortal may be killed suddenly and violently. The storyline between Duncan and Amanda twisted that assumption on it’s head and I wanted to try and capture the emotion of their relationship in a vid.

Why this must be read: This is an emotional favourite of mine, and it went from image in my mind's eye to paper in one fell swoop. It was supposed to be a one off, but ended up being the beginning of a series. But this first story, I think, is perfect all on its own, and deals with how young Immortals let go of their mortal lives.

Why this must be read: Six months later, I wrote this companion piece, set 200 years later. Duncan's winery is the setting for a chance reunion, 200 years later. For once, the mystery woman is from Methos' past, and not Duncan's.

Why this must be read: There simply isn't enough Dead Like Me fic, especially crossover fic. Daisy and Amanda are two peas in a pod. They're young, they're beautiful, they're immortal. They're always looking for the next big score. By the nature of who they are and what they do, they had to run into one another eventually.

Why this must be read: Again, it’s hard to capture an authentic sense of Methos’s great age. This started as an off-hand comment in a mailing list thread. I’m sure it didn’t turn out in the way people were expecting it to, but I had great fun researching and writing it. Frankly, I love it. It owes much to Daniel Defoe, whom, by the way, I also love.

Title: I Remember You Not Fondly

Crossover: Forever Knight, set in the Star Trek future, but no Star Trek characters.
Why this must be read: I've been sticking to short stories till now, but this is one of the long ones. For years, I was fascinated with the idea of the Mirror Universe in Star Trek and what the alternates of our Immies would be like, and in 2007, I finally wrote it. This is a story that was very difficult to write, it totally pushed me out of my comfort zone when it came to the subject matter. In the end, I was very proud of the finished product, even if MirrorMethos totally freaked me out. It was also the first time I'd written Kronos - albeit the Mirror Universe version - but I think it works. It's one of those stories I reread and can't quite believe I wrote it.
